About Emilia:

 

I am currently a third year Fine Art student studying at York St John University. I moved to the city of York in 2017 after having my heart set on the University. I fell in love with the city straight away and I have decided to stay in this city after I finish my degree.

Within my creative practice, I focus a lot on the issues and truths of mental health and the effects it can have on not only me but everybody around me. I portray this through a range of mediums including magazine imagery, drawings and line work. 

 

However, after my degree, my heart is set on training to become a primary school teacher. As cliché as it sounds, becoming a teacher has been my career aspiration since my GCSE years and frankly, I can't see myself within any other profession. As of September 2020, my teacher training with begin through Schools Direct in a school in York. I very much look forward to getting started with my training and I hope my blog of my journey to becoming a teacher can inspire others.
